INFORMATION FOR PATIENTS
We would appreciate AT LEAST 24hrs notice if you need to change or cancel your appointment as this allows us to offer it to other patients. Missed appointments, or appointments cancelled with less than 24 hrs notice may be subject to a cancellation fee.
Please consider other patients by arriving on time for your appointment (preferably about 5 to 10 minutes before your appointment is due). Please advise if you’re running late.
GP or specialist referrals are required to receive a Medicare rebate. Your GP will remain your primary doctor. You are encouraged to maintain contact with your GP for provision of ongoing care. A referral from the GP is valid for 12 months from your first appointment. Beyond 12 months, or for a new problem, you should obtain a new referral prior to the consultation to be billed appropriately for Medicare rebates.
Referrals from specialists are only valid for 3 months from your first specialist appointment. No appointments will be booked without a valid GP or specialist referral.
Referrals can be sent electronically through Medical Objects or faxed to 07 4124 0660. This practice uses Medical Director and Medical Objects practice software.
Electronic referrals are the preferred method for referrals.
Our staff will always advise you when making your appointment of the estimated cost but please be advised there could be extra fees associated with your appointment if the appointment lasts longer than anticipated, or extra procedures or disposables are used.
We charge an out of pocket cost and part of the payment will be reimbursed directly into your registered account by Medicare. Please have your bank account details registered with Medicare before you attend your appointment so our staff can process a Medicare rebate for you once your account is paid in full.
